My condolences
I've just received this email, entitled My Condolences, from an ex-pat in Los Angeles,
I think you should change your blog to Hedda Lettuce.
We had a wake down at the local pub and the consensus there was that was our once proud independent Australia has become an island of Bush-licking cowards.
Hopefully Howard will have to kneel before Kerry in January.
xxxxxxx
UPDATE : Tim Blair has latched onto this, with one reader commenting,
What is that ex-pat in Los Angeles going to do on 3 November afer Bush wins? Move to France?
Quebec is closer, and just as weak.

Adrian, kinda ironic that the mutt that sent you that e-mail lives in Los Angeles, as in California, as in the United States of America. Jeez, maybe that's so he could be that much closer to Bush's ass in order to lick it.

Nice to see us exporting our garbage to the US.

Our still proud independent Australia has made a choice to support the US, whereas other countries chose not to.
Right or wrong, so be it!
BUT...would we be still a proud independent country if we made a choice that was suitable to the UN, or the EU, or the Islamists, or George Soros (or for fuck's sake - Hollywood).
At least the US has got good boots and not sandals.

I HAVE to be a bush-licker; otherwise, my old lady would leave me...not that I don't enjoy it anyway...

See? Neville Chamberlian was not stupid. This is the debate England would have had if Neville had actually gone in with the French and excised the man with the moustache. But he chose to be popular. To avoid war about which there was some doubt. The major media of the day praised him. The intellectuals all knew he was right. Over 40 million people paid for his popularity and the "certainty" of the intellectuals. Bush and Howard will never be popular with the gushy media and the bespecaled intellectuals that "knew better" than Chuchill, Nixon, Reagan. Even if another US city was attacked (or when Saddam secured nukes and became too dnagerous to remove) they would insist on "detente" or UN sponsored negotiations as a safeguard for Americans, Brits and Aussies.

Would that be invoking Godwin's Law? Didn't take long.
